• For anyone heading out the the city of Madrid, remember to pay a visit to the Stadium Santiago Bernabeu, which is one of the most awe inspiring sights you can possibly behold. Of course, many of you will not be football fans, but despite this, you cannot fail to be impressed by the huge walls surrounding this amazing stadium, capable of holding up to 90,000 people at one time! This stadium makes Wembley Stadium look like your local park! The other thing that stays with all people who travel to Madrid is the food. Right in the heart of Spain, Madrid takes its food very seriously and a good Tapas meal can occupy most of the night! Night life is wonderful in this city, and it doesn’t really come alive until after mid night. Eat at around eleven in the still warm streets on an outside cafe, and then spend the next few hours sampling some of the wonderful bars that the city has to offer, and you will soon start to understand why the Spanish believe Madrid, and not Barcelona, to be
    their jewel in their crown!

Getting to Madrid is relatively easy, and there are plenty of direct flights that shouldn’t take much longer than one and a half to two hours in total. Search for cheap flights Madrid online to find a great price on tickets because the alternative is a thirty six hour car drive all the way through France and the Pyrenees!

If you are planning a vacation to Oahu, we recommend that you spend some time on the other islands such as Maui, Kauai and the Big Island (Hawaii). Sure there are plenty of fun things to do in Honululu but the real Hawaii is to be found out there beyond the concrete and neon lights.

The Hawaiian island of Oahu is the third largest of the island chain that make up the Hawaiian Islands. Even though, it is actually the most densely populated of all the islands. Almost seventy five percent of the state’s 1.2 million residents live on Oahu, which is home to the the city of Honolulu and the world famous Waikiki beach.

For example a Maui day tour will include a tour to the top of the 10,000 foot summit of Haleakala, Iao Valley State Park, some time for shopping in Lahaina town. You can organize to have a tour round trip from your Waikiki hotel, including airfare and guided tour. Time can be allocated for a no-host lunch and the tours tend to operate on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s only. Read the rest of this entry »

The fascinating hobby of birdwatching can take you into a variety of beautiful, natural settings. As a longtime birdwatcher, I’ve often found myself drawn into such a blissful state while scanning the lovely scenery, that I almost forget to look for birds!

Buy yourself a field guide to the birds of your area and decide what kind of birds you wish to see. You’ll find that the hobby of birdwatching encourages you to build up a Life List, which is a list of all the birds that you have seen. Various habitats provide different opportunities for birdwatching.

A woodland setting allows you to see sparrows, warblers. Woodpeckers, and songbirds. In spring and fall, visit forested areas for migratory warblers and songbirds. Summer offers a view of nesting birds, though the birds may be harder to see due to the foliage.

Meadows provide an open area for viewing hawks, vultures, larks, and many other birds in flight. The flora and insects in open fields attract a variety of birds. In addition, a meadow offers a wide field of view. Read the rest of this entry »
